Museum of the Future: Al Waha
Challenge
Spearheaded by the Dubai Future Foundation, the Museum of the Future invites guests to look beyond the present to the possible. A key part of this vision? The future of wellness. We were engaged to help create experiences that remind guests of the power of their bodies in an increasingly sedentary and digital future.
Strategy
Deeplocal served as technology, experience, and tangible design partner to create exhibitions for AL WAHA, the Museum’s immersive spa for the senses. Largely void of digital screens, the space integrates technology into physical forms and uses iconography and inscribed text to guide guests. Physical experiences, or treatments, revive the senses.
Immersive Therapies Reflect a future narrative
of wellness.
Movement Therapy
Fluid, generative visuals and a multi-channel soundscape create the feeling of walking through a mystical body of water.
Feeling Therapy
Guests absorb restorative energy and resensitize their hands through a combination of ultrasonic haptic technology, light therapy, and binaural audio.
Connection Therapy
Channeling the healing properties of our collective voice, guests hum to achieve harmony, resulting in a shower of otherworldly light, scent, and sound.
A novel approach to space making
Exhibits integrate haptics, generative visual projections, soundscapes, and more to create an environment that rebalances the body and mind.
Deeplocal worked with Museum of the Future under curator Brendan McGetrick, joining a team of world-class firms led by Atelier Brückner that were selected to bring the Museum’s future vision to life.
