WE ARE CREATIVE ENGINEERS
WHO INVENT INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES
THAT TELL HUMAN STORIES
MADE IN PITTSBURGH.
A DIFFERENT APPROACH
We use a marketing-derived creative process mashed up with an engineering-led approach to invention to tell stories that are rooted in behavior, culture, and brand.
Engineers from Carnegie Mellon, NASA, The Department of Defense, and Disney Research make up over half our staff. They collaborate with top tier designers to create one-of-a-kind work.
We’re involved every step of the way from insight to install. We make our inventions ourselves: fast, flawlessly, and fully in-house in our 12,000 square foot prototyping facility.
AN EXTENSION OF YOUR TEAM
“Deeplocal understands that impactful ideas never start with technology, but with human insights. I continue to be inspired by their passion, focus, and craft for creating amazing experiences for our users.”
Head of Brand Marketing, Consumer Apps at Google
“It's crucial to involve interactive exhibit designers from the outset to enable the shaping of a seamless, thoughtful and fully integrated environment. Having Deeplocal at the table with architects, design, technology integration, and brand specialists enabled us to understand the dependencies and coalesce around a single vision.”
Special Projects Lead, Cloud Space | CA
ENGINEERING & DEVELOPMENT
“Deeplocal engineers have problem-solving capabilities that no other engineering firm in the world could possibly fathom. There are not many companies where your coworkers have professionally designed DARPA robots, fighter jets, biomedical devices, and kinetic architecture.”
VP Engineering, Deeplocal
BUILD & TESTING
“A lot of creative technology comes to life in the huge chasm between idea and execution, and that's where Deeplocal really shines. At the end of the day, you know you're getting something that feels the way it's supposed to. Making tech feel right–that's what they do best.”
Creative Lead/Technologist, Google Events + Experiences
INSTALL & SUPPORT
“I've never seen a group of people more willing to roll up their sleeves and get dirt under their fingernails to bring a concept to life…Their magic even seems to work at 2:00AM, in a wet and cold outdoor booth in Las Vegas. They are makers and do-ers, through and through.”
Executive Producer, Switchboard Operations
A HISTORY OF SUBVERSION
Once a hactivist, subversive artist, and grindcore frontman, our founder has always been a countercultural disruptor.
In the early 2000s, Nathan Martin was leading a collective called the Carbon Defense League and fronting a grindcore band called Creation is Crucifixion. He began collaborating with like-minded artists and engineers at the STUDIO for Creative Inquiry at Carnegie Mellon University. Deeplocal began as a spin off of this art and technology lab. Soon after, we disrupted the industry with the first use of robotics in advertising with Nike Chalkbot. The rest is history in the making.
