spotify x netflix listening funeral
To celebrate the premiere of Wednesday S2, we created macabre, tricked-out caskets that played Lady Gaga’s newest single, The Dead Dance.
At the Graveyard Gala event in NYC, an exclusive pop-up by Netflix and Spotify, fans eagerly lined up at the “Rotwood Cemetery” area, practically dying to be the first to listen to Gaga’s newest single for the show. Aesthetically, our creepy caskets felt at home in the Wednesday universe, with eerie, distressed exteriors and gothic, deep purple fabric interiors, but they were custom crafted to become the perfect listening booths—with headphones for flawless audio playback, ventilation systems for airflow, programmable lighting for spooky vibes, and wide-angle continuous recording cameras to capture the genuine, real-time, authentic reactions to the track. From this “Listening Funeral,” to a surprise appearance from Mother Monster herself, the Graveyard Gala was a star-studded experience with plenty of surprising twists and turns, generating over 7 billion impressions and global press coverage.
